Home Group Ministries

The Circle C home group hosted a block party, sharing fellowship with their neighbors and friends.

Friendships can grow deeper when they are nurtured in an environment of sharing. At St. Philip the Joy-Giver, we believe everyone has unique gifts to offer. Families, singles, single parents, children, youth and seniors - each person is an important member of this caring church family.

An essential quality of church is community. At St. Philip we are building community on a foundation of home groups. Home groups meet weekly in members' homes. These small groups offer opportunities to get to know people, engage in meaningful discussions and build lasting friendships.

CONCEPT

The idea of God working through small gatherings of followers is found throughout the Scriptures.  Home Groups, or home churches, were common practices in the early church.  Gathering in small groups is time-proven way for Christians to grow closer to Christ, for fellowship and study with other Christians, and for support of church family members.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

Q. Are St. Philip Home Groups just for members of St. Philip?

A. Home groups supplement and support the ministry of the church.  They are the "heartbeat" of St. Philip. They offer a place to get to know others and to learn more about becoming the Body of Christ in today's world.  Friends, neighbors, and visitors are welcome.
